This week Hashem moves into the Hebrew camp, (Surprise, surprise, She gets the best tent.) Even before settling into Her incense-clouded abode, She delivers the first in a series of orders, pronouncements and threats that will continue throughout the rest of the Torah, and the long after Moses’ death. This parsha also marks the beginning of B’nai Israel’s years of grilling for its god. I guess you have to be a god to enjoy the smell of burning bird feathers. SHABBAT SHALOM! – a & s
