There simply aren’t enoug hours in the day to do everything that needs doing, but ya still got to get out of the office every once in a while. Last night hung with the Yuri and hit the Handlebar, a bike bar around the corner from me. We were meeting Emily from nextbook there, who apparently knew the headliner, Duenow, an interesting Insurgent Country type trio. Openner Bang Twang also impressive, but I didn’t realize that the talent dude for the space is none other than John Greenfield of Hooray for Hanukah and Critical Mass fame. I should have guessed. So I saw a few familiar faces in the crowd and had a nice time, but MAN was I exhausted when I got home at 1:30am (after 3 $1 schlitz’s). I fell asleep on the couch and now rise at 5 to greet you and the day. Modeh ani and all, but can’t I sleep for another hour? Heading to Velvel’s for Shabbes tonight, a birthday blowout minus the rockin’ morrocan, who’s apparently performing at YU for Yom Haatzmaut instead. Bummer, but we still have bithdays and bourbon! I’m looking forward to the exhibit opening tomorrow- the phone’s been ringing off the hook. Gut Shabbes!
