Cost Structures
If you are using you own venue, you know the costs you’ll have. If you need a formal venue for your event, you will likely pay a rental fee of anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Regardless of where you hold the event, nearly any act you present will require what’s known as backline. this consists of amps, speakers, a mixing board, mics, stands, snakes and everything else that gets the music heard. The exact costs vary with the size of the act and the size of the hall you’re using.
A full 6 piece band will need more equipment than a trio, and a public address syatem for a 100 person show is different than a 1,000 person hall. We highly reccomend using a local sound vendor, who can provide a soudn engineer for set up, break down and living mixing during the show. It can run $200 for a small power mixer combo to over $2000 for a large outdoor festival-style concert. It all depends on what you’re doing Though renting equipment is expensive, cutting corners on sound can be the difference between an incredible event and one that’s just so so. If you need assistance in securing production services, J-ARTS can help you source them.
Travel/Accomodation
Budget at least $300 per ensemble member for airfare and another $100 per day for van rental for local ground transportation to and from the airproit and accomodations. We suggest putting an acts up for the night in a hotel, rather than using home hospitality. Before your concert, you want your performers to rest peacefully and comfortable so they can put on a grat sow for you. Generally, two artists per room in a clean, safe hotel- nothing terribly fancy- is going to cost $140 per room.
Talent Fees
These vary by the act, according to their notariety, demand, the day of the week and whether or not they’re already on tour. Some solo acts charge as little as several hundred dollars, but most acts consisting of four or more members charge between $2,500 and $10,000. Most are somewhere in the middle, but there is a great variance in fee levels. To discuss a specific fee for a specific act, give us a call or send us an email so we can talk about the specific paramters of your event. We’re happy to present you with options based on a set talent budget.
