Support KFAR
In late 2001, KFAR Jewish Arts Center was formed to present contemporary Jewish arts, music and cultural events in the Chicago area. Our first event featured an Australian Jewish punk band at the intimate Chase Café in E. Rogers Park. We expected 40 people to show up.
The intimate cafe was packed with nearly 150 hip young Jews from every background and geography. As we approach our 4th anniversary and the start of our 5th season, KFAR is recognized for facilitating the most vibrant Jewish arts scene between New York and Los Angeles.
By year’s end, we will have presented over 60 events featuring top notch talent. We have partnered with Jewish and other communal organizations and have been repeatedly praised in major local and national press.

KFAR’s energy has created a cultural buzz in the Jewish community, especially among its young adults. We have expanded our program offerings in quality and quantity. Exciting things are happening and we are very excited. Though KFAR is counted among the top Jewish arts presenters in America, we are dramatically under funded. Similar organizations in other cities receive Federation support or allocations, but KFAR instead relies on ticket revenue and the support of dedicated individuals like yourself.
We cannot do it alone. For all of our success, all the praise, partners and presentations, KFAR relies on your support to continue its work. Though KFAR serves the entire community, we are not a communally funded agency. We have come this far with little help, but as demand for our programs increases, we seek your participation to grow into a world class organization.
Read about KFAR in the local and national press:
Bnai Brith Magazine: “A Trailblazer…”
Chicago Reader: “Not your father’s klezmer.”
Chicago Tribune: “KFAR couldn’t plan it better…”
The Forward: “KFAR-On the fringe no more.”
