Emunah
are "the UK's hot new
Jewish hip-hop act", say the Guardian.
The band fuse the finest elements of world music with hip-hop, breaks
and drum and bass, blending musical ingredients from Klezmer to
Carlebach to Bhangra
with kicking beats and driving, soulful basslines that never fail to
get the crowd moving.
Emunah's members stem
from a broad range of ethnicities including
Russian, Jewish, Palestinian and Pakistani, and their songs fuse
influences from Eastern Europe to the Middle East, from Jamaica to New
York, and from Kashmir to London.
As well as working on studio EPs and collaborations with artists from the USA, Canada and Israel, Emunah have also been busy evolving their live side. The band are not signed to any label and yet are in the midst of a wave of gigs in impressively large and prestigious venues in Bristol, Cambridge, London, and Paris. The band have already appeared on a compilation with established US artists such as RZA from Wu Tang and are currently working on collaborations with US producer Brimstone 127 (Nelly Furtado, KRS-One, Jungle Brothers) and Genesis Elijah (one of the top UK hip hop acts). Emunah's repertoire spans hip hop, drum & bass, reggae, and breaks, and they never fail to get crowds moving with their unique fusion of melodies from around the world, crisp beats, uplifting vocals and soulful basslines. |
